UPDATES

Jane recently headed off to Santa Fe, New Mexico to attend the Glen Workshop, a retreat and educational conference for poets, artists, and song-writers. She enjoyed sharing her poetry in a workshop led by Marilyn Nelson, author of In the Fields of Praise and Fortune’s Bones, and in an evening reading series.

She met poets B.H. Fairchild, Luci Shaw, Devon Dugan-Miller (author of Pinning the Bird to the Wall) and Sally Rosen Kindred (author of Garnet Lanterns) as well as memoir-writer Lauren Winner (author of Girl Meets God and Mudhouse Sabbath). Debbie Blue shared homilies nightly on the theme “being fully human,” and Over the Rhine performed in concert on the last evening.

While in New Mexico, Jane visited the Georgia O’Keefe Museum, hiked Bandelier National Park, and made a short pilgrimage to the Santuario de Chimayo. Inspiration for poetry writing was easily discovered in the beautiful desert landscape!
